Tommy Hicks was an American evangelist and preacher who was a major figure in the powerful 1954 Argentine revival. In this revival, over 100,000 people’s hearts turned to the Lord in a nation that was rampant in religion and spiritism. Many were struck with awe under the power of God as many were healed with numerous sicknesses and infirmities, including the then-president of Argentina Juan Peron.
Towards the end of his life, Tommy had a vision of the end-time church who would go out and do great exploits (Ref: Dan 11:32), where “no eye has seen and no ear has heard”. It was in this vision that Tommy was shown a giant who was “struggling for life” (1) and lying dormant, stretching as far as the “north to the south pole” (1), whose entire body was covered in debris.
When the giant “lifted up his hands towards heaven” (1) the forces of darkness fled from his presence, but when he put his hands down the darkness remained.
In Hebrew thought “debris” or “filth” (1) is metaphorically seen as a state of carnality or impurity (Ref: Rom 8:6). We see this in Deu 28:24 when the LORD tells His people that he will rain powder and dust on their land if they disobey His commandments, giving them over to their uncleanliness (Ref: Rom 1:24).
Quite evidently, the giant is identified in the vision as the church of Jesus Christ, highlighting church history and the warring of the church up until the end of the age against the powers of darkness.
Gen 3:15 “And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.” (2)
That despite being a giant in the earth, the church had lacked power and had failed to realize the identity and the power it had been called to manifest in the earth. We see this with the giant lying dormant, in a position of weakness and defeat, with moments of victory seldom.
As Tommy continues, he is shown the giant to rise up from its position, cleansing itself from the debris. He was shown “silver clouds raining liquid light” (1) that would melt the giant; becoming millions of people who moved in the power of the Spirit.
In Deu 32:2, clouds are symbolically inferred as teachers who teach the pure word of God. We see this also as an antonym for comparison In Jude 1:12, likening false teachers to clouds without rain.
That just before the final redemption known as the great and terrible day of the Lord, God will raise up men and woman that would move in His liquid light anointing in the spirit of Elijah, who would restore the state of the church to purity; presenting a church to the Lord “without spot, wrinkle and blemish” (1)
Mal 4:5-6 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse. (2)
We see this in parallel with the ministry of Jeremiah, whose call from God was to pull down, to build and to plant (Ref: Jer 1:10) and in the book of Joel (Ref: Joe 2:25), where Tommy denotes that God “will restore all that the cankerworm, palmerworm, and caterpillar have destroyed”. “As a mighty army, they will sweep over the earth”.
He points out that there were many men and women of God who he thought would surely accept the anointing that these men and women carried, but on the contrary, they put their hands up and backed away into the darkness. This is a sign of the counterfeit church in the last days who will be exposed by the light of the word of God, rejecting the last move of the Lord.
From transporting “to and fro” from one end of the earth to another, “healing the sick and the lame” and “preaching the gospel of the kingdom” to the masses with “millions of people turning to the Lord”. Tommy mentions that he saw no denomination or doctrine, but those who went forth in the name of the Lord of hosts”. That God is “going to give to the world a demonstration in this last hour such as the world has never known”. (1)
Rev 2:26-27 And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations— ‘HE SHALL RULE THEM WITH A ROD OF IRON; THEY SHALL BE DASHED TO PIECES LIKE THE POTTER’S VESSELS’—as I also have received from My Father; (2)
These are those who had gone through many trials and tribulations being “tried by fire”. Not fleeing them, but submitting themselves under the hand of God to overcome as He overcame.
1Pe 1:7 so that the genuineness of your faith, which is much more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested and purified by fire, may be found to result in [your] praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ (3).
A church rising once more in “beautiful white garments” (1), which speaks of the righteous acts of the saints (Ref: Rev 19:8) through the purity of the word (Isa 45:8). His “beloved Bride” that He has “has loved from the beginning of time” (1).
Here at the voice of healing under Apostle Michael Petro, we are not a denomination, but a movement who has heard the voice of the Lord for this last hour. If you’d like to be a part of what the Lord is doing in this last season; come and join us and receive the outpouring of the Spirit given to those who have eyes to see and ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches. The trumpet is sounding and the army is preparing for this last release of the glory of the Lord upon His church. Can you hear the call? The restoration of all things is at hand.
