His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts (Ref: Isa 55:8). The Lord is not contained to a box, nor is He contained to the limitations of our minds. He reminds us in Isaiah that as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are His thoughts and ways higher than ours. God lives in the heavenly realm, not in this earthly realm that is limited by the flesh. If we want to be in a place and position to understand what God is doing, we have to go up into that realm. Moses had to ascend the mountain to receive the instructions from the LORD, (Ref: Exodus 19).
Lana Vawser released a prophetic word describing how the Lord has been speaking this very thing to the body. She heard Him say,
“BE CAREFUL NOT TO CRITICIZE THE WAY I AM MOVING IN THIS NEW ERA.”
We shouldn’t be quick to judge something as NOT God because it doesn’t fit in the box or how we think it should look. Many will be offended because this new era won’t fit the way they think God should move or who He uses in the move. God is saying be watchful over your mouth, that you don’t speak things you don’t understand. “Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble” (Prov 21:23).
Imagine walking along a dark path. You aren’t familiar with the area and are straining to see which way to go so you don’t stumble. Up ahead you see what looks like a wide open expanse and think it might be a clearing where you can rest. Because of the darkness and your unfamiliarity with the way, you don’t know it’s actually a drop off. When we walk in darkness without light and without a true perception of what’s around us, we risk stepping off a cliff edge. We can do this with God, thinking we know how He operates based on our perception of what we see, but really we are in darkness or ignorance to what God is doing. His Word, the truth, is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path so that we don’t stumble and fall, (Ref: Psa 119:105) .
The only way to truly be able to discern what the Lord is doing in this time is to have a deep and intimate connection with Him. Those whose hearts have been in a place of humble posture to His Spirit and whose eyes and ears and open and alert. How can we know what someone is thinking or planning to do if we don’t spend time daily with them? David said, “Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths. Guide me in Your truth and faithfulness and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; for You [You only and altogether] do I wait [expectantly] all day long (Psalm 25:4-5).
This isn’t time for old-school, we know Jesus, do it like the old days religion. The Pharisees thought that way. They expected to see the Saviour, the Messiah, in the ways they believed He would appear and how we would come and teach. They missed the one who came to teach them the spiritual interpretation of the commandments. They were always tempting, to try and trap Him and see if He broke the law (Ref: Matt 16, Mark 8:11 & Matt 22:15).
How many times have we said, this isn’t of God, God doesn’t move like this or that person can’t be used by God? In this season we cannot have a mind like the Pharisees and judge something based on outward appearances, rather than listen to the Spirit of God. There was a strong impression to “watch your mouth” and not be so quick to put labels on the things God is doing because it doesn’t go along with our ideology.
The religious system couldn’t understand the parables. Jesus explained to His disciples the mysteries of the kingdom, but only after the others had left. He explained that they were receiving the hidden truths but others couldn’t receive them because their hearts were not teachable. Those who had left, had ears but didn’t truly listen and eyes but they didn’t see the deeper things (Ref Matt 13:10-16). Much of the body of Christ is in the same position of not seeing or hearing the deeper things of God.
How do we get to know someone and understand them better? We do it by spending time around them as much as we can. The same is true for God. We will only know Him by spending time in His presence and spending time in His Word. His Word is the truth of who He is, it reveals His very nature. Asking for wisdom and discernment and allowing the Holy Spirit to teach our hearts the deep things of God (Ref 1Co 2:10). Then when we see what’s happening in the earth we aren’t in confusion or shaken, but we can see the hand of God moving and rearranging to bring about His kingdom.
Vawser said she had a vision of a major tidal wave of streams coming together that had never been seen. We are not to criticize it or stand in it’s way. These streams are coming together to build what God is building in this era. “And I heard a voice from heaven, like the sound of many waters” (Rev 14:2).Just as the four rivers flowed from the garden of Eden, these rivers are united and bringing purification to the Church. The Lord is coming back for His spotless bride (Ref: Eph 5:27), not for those who want to hold on to offenses and attitudes.
Be prepared for this season! It’s time to ask the Lord for a cleansing of the heart through the rivers of revelation. It’s time to get close to God’s heart as John did (Ref: John 13:23), so we do not criticize or become offended at what God is doing. It is the time of the wheat and the tares. Be humble before the Lord, not proud and false like the tares. Ask Him to open your eyes, to have a spiritual circumcision so you can partake in what He is doing, regardless of what it looks like to the religious system.
