Let There Be

It all started with the words: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Gen 1:1)

The question is, do I believe those words? Why do I believe them? Maybe, and not too often asked, is how do I believe them? The “how” question is related to which interpretation of the Scriptures I receive because how they are interpreted will determine how I experience them.

If I understand them naturally, historically, or literally then the Bible may just be comparative literature. However, if I begin to understand them parabolically: “I will open My mouth in a parable” (Ref Psalm 78:2), a figurative story or common human experience I can relate to, God will show me a deeper meaning from His perspective using my experience. This allows me to symbolically see them, which allows me to prophetically understand, or interpret through His understanding! This is a process that the Prophets (Ref Amos 3:7) and David understood.

The words of David were passed on to his son Solomon, who, in his time, was given the largest deposit of Wisdom that any human was given. They understood the language of symbolism. King David declared, [you] “shall be like a tree, planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season…” (Psalm 1:3). So, here a tree is compared to a person that produces fruits of the Word or Seed of God (Ref Like 8:11). We may have heard the saying: ‘The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree’ as a way of saying ‘the son is going to be close to being like the father’. (1) David’s son Solomon said,

“To understand a proverb and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark saying” (Pro 1:6).

Jesus only spoke in this language of parables (Ref Matt 13:34; Mark 4:34). Why is it so important that for three and a half years, Jesus only spoke in parables? Within that [parabolic] language is the secret that allows for healing to begin in the “eyes…ears…heart”, so they “should be converted and I should heal them” (Ref Matt 13:15).

The diagnosis is spiritual blindness, deafness, and heart disease. The ‘conversion’ is the application of the medicine (Deut 29:4; Isaiah 6:9; Matt 18:3). The prognosis depends on receiving the medicine with humility to heal our souls. The brother of Jesus, Apostle James, laid out the process saying, “be swift to hear, slow to speak” (Ref Ja 1:9). We must hear the spiritual interpretation to make sure we understand, as “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks” (Ref Matt 12:34). Jesus was speaking to the religious leaders in this same verse (Matt 12:34), saying: “vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things?” However, once we are converted and receive with meekness “the implanted word, which is able to save your souls”. (Ref James 1:21).

The interpretation of the Early Church (before 325 AD), taught by Bishop Michael Petro, is our understanding at The Voice of Healing Ministries, and why we are seeing the beginning of ‘wonders’. ‘Let there be’: healings, deliverances from demons, addictions, raising of the dead, supernatural finances, supernatural curing of cancers and so much more. Until next time, Shalom,
