On Earth as it is in Heaven

Pray, therefore, like this: Our Father Who is in heaven, hallowed (kept holy) be Your name.

Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven ( left, remitted, and let go of the debts, and have given up resentment against) our debtors.

And lead (bring) us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Matthew 6:9-13 [AMP]

Throughout the Old and New Testament, the recurring message from God to His servants (the prophets) is that His people have physical eyes and ears but they cannot see or hear. Meaning, they could see what His Law was saying literally but they were not able to see the hidden meaning within the parables (John 5:39). Contrary to popular belief, sin is not lying, cheating, stealing; rather, these attributes all come from sin or a wrong understanding of God’s Law. The Law is God, so if we have a false understanding of the Law, we misunderstand who God is and what His plans are for us.

Jesus spoke in parables – an earthly story with a heavenly meaning. When Jesus spoke about the kingdom of Heaven, He hid it within a parable, so that the ones who truly wanted to know God would search it out.

“You shall seek me and you shall find me when you seek me with all of your heart.”

Jeremiah 29:13

Luke 8:11 states that the seed is the Word of God. The word for seed is the Greek word spóros, which is where we get our word sperm, the seed of the man. In Hebrew thought, the mind is symbolic of a womb, so when the seed Word of God comes into our minds, we become impregnated with the Word of God. The character of God begins to form in us and we are able to give birth to His nature. The Apostle Paul says he labored that Christ would be formed in him,

“My little children, for whom I am again in [the pains of] labor until Christ is [completely and permanently] formed within you.”

Galatians 4:19

He did this so that people who wanted to know God could experience Him through Paul. Through what Paul was teaching/revealing, He was manifesting Christ on earth for others to see, then they could then manifest Christ by the seed Word in them.

When Nicademus came to Jesus seeking salvation, Jesus responded, “Surely I say to you that unless you are born again you cannot see the kingdom of God.” [Jn 3:3] Nicademus, understanding the natural way of birth, questioned Jesus saying to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old?” Can he enter his mother’s womb again and be born? ’[Jn 3:4] However, Jesus was not speaking of any natural birth but a spiritual one, “For flesh gives birth to flesh and spirit gives birth to spirit” (Jn 3:6). He was hinting that Nicademus had to understand the Law past the literal historical interpretation; Nicademus needed to have eyes to see and ears to hear, or he needed a revelation (revealing) of the deeper meaning in the parables.

In any state or country there are laws and regulations that you must abide by in order to be a citizen. In order to abide in the kingdom of Heaven, we must understand the Laws of God – His commandments, but not by the letter of the Law but by the Spirit of the Law (ref 2 Cor 3:1-6).

There must be a removal of the veil (the literal interpretation) of Scripture, so we can see the living Word inside. Jesus says,

“First seek the kingdom of God and everything else should be added onto you.”

Matthew 6:33

It’s important to understand that the kingdom of Heaven, like Jesus said, is not some far off place but rather, it is within us (ref Lk 17:21). By studying the deeper and spiritual meaning of the commandments, and seeking God with all our hearts, He will reveal Himself to us. When we are walking in His ways, and transformed by the revelation we receive, then we will understand what it means to bring Heaven to earth and re-establish His Kingdom.

“For the secret things belong to the Lord our God but the things that are revealed belong to us and our children forever and ever. Amen.”

Deuteronomy 29:29
