VII. CHARACTERISTICS OF A PROPHET

Before becoming a prophet, they were wise men being illuminated in their minds by the wisdom of God. These were not men who were just “activated” into that office, wisdom was a qualification and important attribute. They also were fearless, bold, loyal to the truth. The life of the prophet endured many sufferings, afflictions, torments, being destitute, the office of the prophet is not glamorous. They received the blessings of God that were not of the material realm, but are spiritual, invisible gifts. These are different from those so called prophets who divine by means of demons.

XIII. WORD OF WISDOM AND THE WORD OF KNOWLEDGE

The wisdom of God has to be properly discerned between God’s wisdom and man’s wisdom. If a person was a perfect life yet he did not have the wisdom of God, he is considered worthless. The Wisdom of God is considered the strong meat of the word whom only the perfect could partake of. The “word of wisdom” and the “word of knowledge” gifts are correctly defined in this article.
