The Spirit comes from the Hebrew word Ruach meaning wind or breath. It is the breath of God. The Spirit is mentioned throughout all of scripture, and is a gift from God to help us along our prescribed path. John the Baptist said one was coming who would baptize those in the Holy Spirit and fire.
