Aligning to the Will of God

Can the small minds of man really know the divine will of God and align to that greatness?

Has there now come a time in biblical history when God is revealing His divine will and purpose to mankind like never before? If so, how do we access this divinity, this deep understanding so we can align ourselves?

“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day”
(2 Peter 3:8).

If we understand biblical timelines, we know that we are 6,000 years into the fall of Adam; God said on the 7th day He would rest. This is talking about bringing mankind into a rest. A rest of the mind. The millennium rule and reign. We are stepping into the 7th day, or 7,000 years, or the rest.

We are stepping into the 7th day, or 7,000 years, or the rest.

“And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden,” (Gen 3:8).

That is speaking of a direct relationship that Adam had with the Lord. Adam could clearly hear God’s voice. God is calling us back to this type of relationship. As mere men this is impossible.

“But Jesus looked at them and said to them, ‘With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible,’” (Mat 19:26).

In God’s mercy and love for His people, He gave us the blueprint through His prophetic Word of how to find our way home while here on earth. It clearly also states this desire in the Lord’s Prayer:-

“Thy kingdom Come; thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven,” (Mat 6:10).

If we read Scripture as a history book, then we miss the prophecy of understanding, or the blueprint, or the ability to understand through the prophetic Scriptures, what are keys of the kingdom to unlock the doors we need to walk through. We know the blueprint does not change; we are told this in Hebrews:-

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever,” (Heb 13:8).

God, Jesus is eternal, so are His ways; He doesn’t change them for the different generations. Man changes; man has degenerated over time, but God remains unchanged and eternal. He stands on His Word. How is it that we can find these keys to unlock these doors?

“Surely the Lord GOD does nothing unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets,” (Amo 3:7).

The divinity of our Heavenly Father is revealed to His holy apostles and prophets.  Within the knowledge and understanding that God is requiring us to walk in lies a precept: to walk it out, not just hear it.

We understand, therefore, that the Lord trumpets the Word to the holy apostles who are the vessels of honor whom the Father chooses, the chosen ones to bring us to a mature understanding of His Word. John confirms this statement made by Jesus:

“Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does,” (Joh 5:19).

Isn’t that the pattern that Abraham walked in, that Jacob and Isaac walked in, that Moses walked in, that also Christ Jesus walked in; and so the disciples, while walking with Jesus for 3 years, who then became His 12 Apostles? Apostle Paul spent 14 years in the wilderness communing with God.

We too must follow the same blueprint.

We too must follow the same blueprint. After all, it was given to us for this very reason: we must be under the headship of a true apostle, a true spiritual father who hears from the Lord. Apostle Paul confirms this by saying:-

“My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you” (Gal 4:19).

We, only by being the children of the apostles, can be birthed into the kingdom understanding. Interestingly enough, why is it only through a spiritual father, an apostle, that we can come into this perfect understanding?

Paul is clear when he tells us that this is the grace that the Father in heaven gave him. Grace therefore is first given to the true apostles. The kingdom of heaven runs as a government. It has order just like we have order here on earth.

The kingdom of heaven runs as a government. It has order just like we have order here on earth.

He also told us through instruction, through the very first commandant that:

“You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind,” (Mat 22.37).

To have the mind of Christ, we must first have a disposition of love. It says that we are to love God with all of our heart. What is this love? It is the love of truth. Then it states with all your soul. Our soul is our inner man or our spiritual man. When we love truth, our inner man comes to life. The inner man must want to be like the Father, how He first created us to be, in relationship with Him; that being His very image. It finishes by saying that love must be in our mind. Our mind needs to be transformed.

In Hebrew thought, the heart and the mind are the same. The heart is the seat of passion and the mind only does what the heart desires. So, when we begin to understand through knowledge, through the marriage of our minds and our hearts to the deeper Word or Will of God, we start aligning ourselves to that will. We start transforming, we are putting on His mind. God tells us that the greatest of all the fruits we can have is love.

Head-knowledge alone therefore does not qualify us to be aligned with the will of God. It requires a transformation of the inner man, to put off the old man and to put on the new man, the spiritual man.

Head-knowledge alone therefore does not qualify us to be aligned with the will of God. It requires a transformation of the inner man, to put off the old man and to put on the new man, the spiritual man.

Jesus told Peter:

“And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.  (Mat 16:18) And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven,” (Mat 16:19).

How did Peter build this gospel of Jesus? Scripture teaches us that Jesus is the cornerstone and the capstone.

In 1 Peter 2:6, Peter says that Jesus is the cornerstone in the foundation of the spiritual house, but in 1 Peter 2:7, he says that Jesus is the capstone, the apex, the highest point and unifying centre of the building under which we all take our place. What does this mean to us?

Jesus, in His teaching, came into and fulfilled the fivefold ministry: apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor (shepherd), and teacher. Jesus fulfilled all five of these offices. He was therefore the second Adam, the foundation and the capstone of the holy church of God. This being the apex or the capstone, being the crowning rock. This crowning rock or stone is what is placed on the very top of the building. Paul said:

“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?”  (1 Cor 3:16).

What is on the very top of our bodies, our temples? It is our mind. This is saying that when we are built into God’s glorious church, being that mature or perfect understanding of God’s Word and will through the teachings of a spiritual father, a holy apostle; when our inner man has been washed from the defilement of understanding, we can now walk out God’s very nature and character.

We have put on the mind of Christ or we are now walking in alignment with the will of God. We have transformed from babies to heirs.

We have transformed from babies to heirs.

This is reinforced in Philippians:

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God” (Php 2:5-6).
